Born "Louisa Braun" in 1894 in France, she came to America about 1899. In 1900, she was called Louise Brown and was raised in the home of Frederick Gebhardt. By 1910, she was called Louise Gebhardt.
She was a parapsychologist and gave lectures on numerology. She wrote a syndicated advice column "Ask Laranka" in parapsychology magazines. Survivors include a daughter; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
