Claude Corlew Coke, 62, a former Montgomery County resident who lived in Chattanooga, died Sunday afternoon of a heart attack in Chattanooga. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. at the Chattanooga Funeral Home, East Chapel with burial in National Cemetery in Chattanooga. He was born Aug. 9, 1918 in Coke Montgomery County and was the son of the late Claude and Eva Dunlavy Coke.
He was a member of the Baptist Church, American Legion, Lions Club and Eagles Club. For 19 years, Mr. Coke appeared in the Clarksville Christmas parade as Santa Claus before health problems forced him to retire.
Survivors are his widow, Rae Creed Coke, Chattanooga; four daughters; a son; three sisters; and eight grandchildren.
