Harold Eugene Hamilton, a beloved teacher, coach, husband, and friend, passed away on May the 5th, 2023, in Melbourne, Florida at the age of 68. He was born on January 28th, 1955, in Texas City, Texas, to his parents Lonie Witt Hamilton and Marilyn Ann Smith Hamilton.
Harold was a devoted husband to Cathy Jane Brasher, whom he married on December the 16th, 1989, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Their love was a shining example to all who knew them.
Harold attended The University of Tulsa on a football scholarship from 1973 to 1978 where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. He was a talented athlete and coach, but his greatest gift was his ability to connect with and inspire his students.
After his graduation, he taught at New Mexico Military Institute in Roswell, New Mexico in 1978 and 1979. Harold came back to Tulsa to coach at Cascia Hall Preparatory School in Tulsa from 1981 to 1985. Harold began his career at Ernest Childres Middle School, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma in 1986 when the school opened, and he dedicated over 30 years of his life to teaching and coaching there until his retirement in 2017. He was a true inspiration to his students and athletes, coaching them in football, wrestling, and track while teaching technical education. His impact on his students' lives will be felt for generations to come.
Harold had many passions in life, including fishing, working in the yard, and collecting and shooting guns. He loved spending time with his wife, traveling to places like Europe and St. Martin, watching movies, and eating out for breakfast. Harold had a warm and welcoming personality and never met a stranger. His kind and generous spirit will be dearly missed.
Harold was a devoted Christian and loved God deeply. His faith was an important part of his life and we know he is in Heaven in the presence of God our Father.
Harold is survived by his loving wife; his mother; one brother; six nieces and nephews; fourteen great-nieces and nephews; his God-Daughter; a sister-in-law; a brother-in-law; and his father-in-law. He is also survived by many, many friends and extended family members. Harold was preceded in death by his father, Lonie Hamilton; one brother, Bill Hamilton and his mother-in-law, Janie Gwin.
His life was one of great purpose and meaning, and his legacy will continue to inspire those who knew him for years to come.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, June 4th, 2023, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, at the Baytree National Golf Link Clubhouse, located at 8207 National Dr, Melbourne, FL 32940

Harold was preceded in death by his father, Lonie Hamilton; one brother, Bill Hamilton and his mother-in-law, Janie Gwin.
His life was one of great purpose and meaning, and his legacy will continue to inspire those who knew him for years to come.

Lonie W. Hamilton, 78 beloved husband of Ann Hamilton passed away Sunday, December 23, 2007 at his residence. Born in Cleveland, MS August 20, 1929 and raised in Tennessee.
He graduated from Oak Ridge High School, in Oak Ridge, TN in 1947. He received a degree in Chemical Engineering from Vanderbilt University and a Masters in Business Administration University of Chicago.
He married the former Ann Smith Nov 18, 1951 in Nashville, TN.
He was employed 36 years with AMOCO OIL Co. -first half of career in Process Development Research in Texas City, TX and Whiting, IN; second half in International Economics in Chicago and management of various foreign subsidiaries. He spent ten years overseas in Iran, England, Japan and Trinidad.
Retired in 1987 to Hot Springs, AR and later moved to Melbourne, where he resided with Ann, his beloved wife of 56 years in Baytree. He was also an active member of Suntree United Methodist Church and the Empty Nest Sunday School class and also active in Meals on Wheels Program for several years.
Mr. Hamilton is survived by his loving wife Marilyn Ann Hamilton of Melbourne, two sons; Wes (Linda) Hamilton of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Harold (Cathy) Hamilton of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma;six grandchildren and five greatgrandchildren. Mr. Hamilton was preceded in death by his son William Hamilton.
Memorial Services will be held at Suntree United Methodist Church Thursday December 27, 2007 at 10 AM Interment will be at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Nashville. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Suntree United Methodist Church.
