Clayton Heflin, 81, died Saturday May 15 at Memorial Hospital after one week illness.
Services were held Monday at the Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev Harvey Holland officiating. Burial was the Memorial Gardens with Milligan Funeral Home in charge. Mr Heflin was born in Stewart County, Feb 7, 1890 the son of the late George and Julie Johnson Heflin. He had been a resident of Montgomery County for the past 31 years.
He is survived by his step-mother, Mrs Sallie Heflin, Indian Mound; his wife, Mrs Alma Harrison Heflin; three sons, Rex and J W Heflin, both of Clarksville, and William D Heflin, Dickson; two daughters, Mrs Alberta Johnson, Clarksville, and Mrs Detaris Casey, Clarksville; two brothers, Charlie Heflin Woodlawn and Ervin Heflin, California; and one half-brother, George Heflin Jr, Indian Mound; one sister, Mrs Nannie Bryant, Clarksville; two half-sisters, Mrs Alberta Green, Dover and Mrs Hattie Hawkins, Big Rock; 20 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Nannie Heflin Bryant, 88, died Tuesday morning at Montgomery County Nursing Home after an extended illness. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at McReynolds-Nave Funeral Home with Rev. Virgil Allison officiating. Burial will follow in Rivervlew Cemetery. She was a resident of Route 8, Clarksville.
Born March 15, 1891, she was the daughter of the late George William Heflin and Julie Johnson Heflin. . Her husband, R.W. Bryant, died in 1960.
She is survived by a son, Delbert Bryant, Clarksville; a stepson, Vernon Bryant, Clarksville; a daughter, Mattie Rich, Clarksville; a stepdaughter, Ina Bryant, St. Bethlehem; a half-brother, George Heflin, Clarksville; two half sisters, Hattie Hawkins, Bumpus Mais, and Albertia Green, Dover; and two grandchildren. She was a member of Stamper's .Chapel United Methodist Church.
Pallbearers will include Lonzo Williams, Roy Heflin, Frank Heflin, Cecil Bryant, Alfred Suiter, and Charlie Walker.
