It is with great sadness that the family of John Francis O’Reilly announce that he peacefully passed in his sleep on August 1, 2018, at the age 82. Leaving with fond and loving memories his wife of 56 years Ruby; four children: Stephen, David (Jacqueline), Joanne (Darren) and Janet (John); five grandchildren: Collin, Meghan, Andrew, John and Matthew; sister Cecelia Nolan; nieces and nephews, and a large circle of family and friends. The family would like to thank the staff of Kenny’s Pond Residence for their tender care and sensitivity in our time of need. We greatly appreciate their support which allowed John to care for Ruby, the love of his life. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road on Saturday, August 4th, 2018 from 2-4 p.m and Sunday, August 5th, 2018 from 5-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, August 6th, 2018 at 10 a.m from Mary Queen Of Peace, with interment to follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.

Passed peacefully away in the presence of her loving family on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at Kenny’s Pond Retirement Home.
Predeceased by her loving husband John O’Reilly; parents Hazel Sheppard and Frank Fagan; brothers Harvey Fagan, Ralph Fagan, Doug Fagan, Reg Fagan, and Gerald Fagan; sisters Ella Hynes and Marjorie Walsh.
Leaving to mourn her children Stephen O’Reilly, David O’Reilly (Jacqueline Kieley), Joanne Reid (Darren Reid), and Janet O’Reilly (John Andrews); grandchildren Collin O’Reilly, Andrew Collins, Meghan O’Reilly, John O’Reilly and Matthew Collins; sister Nina Tilley as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Ruby had a special place in many people’s hearts. She had the most beautiful soul. Everyone who knew her, loved her. A devout Catholic she shared her voice with the choir at Mary Queen of Peace for many years. Her husband John was her rock and we are all so happy they are reunited once again. Special thanks to the staff at Kenny’s Pond who took loving and excellent care of her in her final years.
Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation on Friday from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at 10 a.m. from Divine Mercy Parish, Newfoundland Drive (St. Paul’s Parish). Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
