JASPER A BRAGDON, JR, 50, died Aug. 31 at the Veterans Hospital in Togus after a long illness.
He was born April 5, 1921, at Ellsworth, the son of Jasper A and Gladys Jordan Bragdon. He graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1938. He was employed for many years at the Fred W Beal and Son, Inc, Ellsworth; later, by the Suburban Propane Co in Hermon.
He served in the Army Military Police Corps in World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs Della Hooper Bragdon of Bangor; mother of Ellsworth; one son, Jasper A III of Ellsworth; one daughter, Jill of Ellsworth; one sister, Mrs Elmer (June) Davis of Lamoine; one adopted son, Merle Bragdon of Portland; two stepdaughters, Mrs Dorothy Clancy of Hampden VA, and Mrs Alice Le-Baines of Plainville CT; one step-son, TechSgt Alton Carter, Air Force.
Services will be at the Jordan Funeral Home, Ellsworth, with the Rev Newell Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Pyle Cemetery, Mariaville.
