John Francis “Jack” Chestercove, of Franklin, died at his home Saturday December 20, 2014. He was the husband of the late Susan D. (Hooban) Chestercove.
Born April 27, 1945 in Milford, a son of Joseph S. Chestercove of Franklin and the late Shirley (Feeley) Chestercove, he was a lifelong Franklin resident.
He was educated in Franklin schools, and until his retirement several years ago worked as a machinist for Plainville Machine Works.
He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War, and attained the rank of Seaman; he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, and the Navy Unit Commendation, he was honorably discharged in November 1966.
John enjoyed spending time with his family, motorcycles, fishing, working on cars and listening to Johnny Cash.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his children; Erica L. Earl and her husband Steven of Franklin, Candice A. Hastings and her husband Robert of Franklin, William S. Robinson and his wife Tina of Franklin, Carie F. Pimenta of North Carolina and Eric J. Saulnier of New Bedford, 2 sisters Patricia J. Santoro and her husband James of Franklin & Judy A. Picchi and her husband Armand of Franklin. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren.
He was the father of the late Jack D. Chestercove.

Mrs. Susan D. (Hooban) Chestercove 50, of Franklin, died Thursday July 26, 2007 at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester, where she had been a patient for 1 week. She was the wife of John F. 'Jack' Chestercove. Born in Norwood, February 4, 1957 a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Ostrum) Hooban, she lived in Franklin for 24 years. She was educated in Foxboro and North Attleboro schools, and for more than 16 years, worked as an attendant at Wrentham State School until illness forced her to stop working about 4 years ago. She loved family, cooking, crossword puzzles and bingo. Surviving in addition to her husband of 26 years are 3 sons, William S. Robinson of Franklin, Eric J. Saulnier of Pawtucket, RI and Jack D. Chestercove of Franklin a daughter Carie F. Pimenta of Millville, a brother Neil Hooban of Plainville and 13 grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside funeral service Saturday August 4th, at 11AM at the Hooban family lot in Union Street Cemetery, Rt. 140 Franklin, Interment will follow. There are no public calling hours. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home
